Il Meteo Meduse nasce come monitoraggio scientifico del fenomeno, ma è soprattutto un servizio per i turisti e i bagnanti. Ecco come fare per avvistare le meduse, come condividere gli avvistamenti e che cosa fare in caso di puntura.

La risposta è MeteoMeduse, il servizio di Focus per la segnalazione delle meduse sulle nostre coste. In tempo reale.

Per segnalare i tuoi avvistamenti e per consultare le mappe aggiornate in tempo reale occorre scaricare l'App per smartphone di Meteomeduse (per iOS e per Android). È gratis e permette di avere la situazione sotto controllo anche fuori casa. 


COME FUNZIONA. Basta indicare il nome della specie (vedi le schede sulla App e qui sotto per riconoscerle), luogo, quantità e densità approssimativa per metro cubo. Se possibile è meglio allegare una foto delle meduse avvistate.

«Grazie al prezioso contributo dei lettori-scienziati, abbiamo le risorse per fare ricerche approfondite sulle meduse dei nostri mari» spiega Boero che con il collega Stefano Piraino conduce diversi progetti scientifici nazionali ed europei (Ritmare, Med-Jellyrisk, Persues, Vectors e Coconet) sul tema. «Solo così possiamo monitorare 8.500 chilometri di coste italiane, cosa che nessun finanziamento alla ricerca avrebbe potuto permettere».

Londonderry explosion: 'Firebomb' explodes in Everglades Hotel

No-one was injured in the explosion but the reception area was extensively damaged A masked man has thrown what police have described as a "firebomb" into the reception area of a Londonderry hotel. The Everglades Hotel, in the Prehen area of the city, was evacuated after the device was reported at 23:15 BST on Thursday. Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument. Officials said the former prime minister would not be held for more than a week but insisted that her detention was necessary while matters in the country were "organised".
