I VECCHI TITOLI STAR WARS APPRODATI SU PLAYSTATION 4 GIRANO SU UN EMULATORE

Probabilmente nel tentativo di sfruttare la Star Wars mania, alimentata dal nuovo Star Wars Battlefront e soprattutto dalla nuova incarnazione cinematografica in arrivo a poco meno di un mese, Sony ha di recente pubblicato sul PSN quattro giochi usciti su PlayStation 2 e ambientati in una galassia lontana lontana.
I titoli in questione sono Star Wars: Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: Racer Revenge e Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Particolarmente interessante è quanto emerso dall'analisi di Digital Foundry a loro dedicata. A quanto pare i giochi non sarebbero dei port, ma piuttosto girerebbero su PlayStation 4 tramite emulazione. Tra gli indizi che puntano in questo senso vi sono:
  • La mappatura dei tasti select e start nella parte destra e sinistra del trackpad, funzionalità che di solito è preclusa alle terze parti.
  • L'emulazione delle memory card di PlayStation 2
  • Il fatto che tutte le icone dei pulsanti su schermo si riferiscono al DualShock 2
  • Il logo della PlayStation 2 che appare nella sua versione upscalata all'avvio di ognuno dei quattro titoli.
Digital Foundry fa comunque presente che la qualità dell'emulazione e davvero di alto livello, lodando i miglioramenti alla risoluzione e al framerate, nonché l'ingegnosità di Sony che in qualche modo è anche riuscita ad inserire nell'emulatore una routine di riconoscimento degli eventi di gioco grazie alla quale è stata possibile l'implementazione dei trofei. Londonderry explosion: 'Firebomb' explodes in Everglades Hotel

No-one was injured in the explosion but the reception area was extensively damaged A masked man has thrown what police have described as a "firebomb" into the reception area of a Londonderry hotel. The Everglades Hotel, in the Prehen area of the city, was evacuated after the device was reported at 23:15 BST on Thursday. Costruito sul modello dell'uomo, si muove con grande libertà e può valutare situazioni critiche. Valkyrie, il robot della Nasa. La Nasa lo ha tenuto segreto per più di una anno, da quando cioè, durante il  Darpa Robotics Challenge  dell’anno scorso, disse che stava lavorando al progetto di un robot umanoide, insieme a prestigiose università Usa, ma senza svelarne le caratteristiche. Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument. Officials said the former prime minister would not be held for more than a week but insisted that her detention was necessary while matters in the country were "organised".
