La danza delle balene nell'aurora boreale

Una famiglia di megattere si rincorrono e giocano sotto la luce magica di un'aurora boreale.

È stata una impresa difficile, ma alla fine Harald Albrigtsen, fotografo natuyralista che lavora per la tv norvegese NRK, ha catturato delle immagini che stanno facendo il giro del mondo: un gruppo di megattere che giocano alla luce di un aurora boreale.

«Le ho viste mentre ero al largo dell'isola di Kvaløya, vicino a Tromsø (Norvegia settentrionale), ma la prima volta ero così sorpreso che mi sono sfuggite. Però sono rimasto ad aspettare, pronto...», racconta Albrigtsen. «Dopo un paio d'ore avevo quasi rinunciato, ma poi è accaduto di nuovo: uno spettacolo unico!» Anche se il video così com'è stato poi montato è in effetti frutto di due giorni di appostamento. «È stata una sensazione incredibile quando ho capito di essere riuscito a filmare le balene sotto l'aurora boreale. Una condizione ambientale particolarmente difficile per le riprese: mentre giravo, non sapevo neppure se fossero a fuoco». In un gioco di luci e di colori che ha dato vita a un doppio spettacolo.

Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument.
