L'eclissi lunare del 28 settembre... vista dalla Luna

Sulla Luna l'eclissi totale del 28 settembre 2015 sarà un'eclissi solare totale. Che regalerà uno spettacolo straordinario a un ipotetico spettatore lunare. Ecco la simulazione della NASA.


La mattina del 28 settembre è prevista l'eclissi totale di Luna. L'eclissi sarà  più spettacolare del solito perché il nostro satellite si troverà in prossimità del perigeo, cioè nel punto di massimo avvicinamento alla Terra, e dunque nel corso dell'eclissi ci apparirà particolarmente grande (del 14 per cento circa). Sarà dunque un'eclissi di Super Luna, evento abbastanza raro: è la prima volta da 30 anni. 

La NASA ha provato a immaginare come questo fenomeno si vedrebbe dalla Luna, realizzando la simulazione che vedete nel video in alto.

La Luna, entrando nell'ombra della Terra, diventerebbe buia e le stelle, difficilmente osservabili dalla faccia visibile del nostro satellite, inizierebbero a splendere nell'oscurità.

La Terra apparirebbe molto più grande del Sole e andrebbe a coprire completamente il disco solare, realizzando una "eclissi di Sole".

Le luci delle città di Nord e Sud America, di Europa occidentale e Africa diventerebbero ben visibili, mentre un anello "infuocato" circonderebbe i confini del nostro pianeta e illuminerebbe la superficie lunare di una tenue luce rossastra.

Londonderry explosion: 'Firebomb' explodes in Everglades Hotel

No-one was injured in the explosion but the reception area was extensively damaged A masked man has thrown what police have described as a "firebomb" into the reception area of a Londonderry hotel. Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument. Officials said the former prime minister would not be held for more than a week but insisted that her detention was necessary while matters in the country were "organised".
