GOOGLE, SAMSUNG ED ALTRI 16 COLOSSI TECNOLOGICI PRONTI A MANDARE IN PENSIONE LE PASSWORD

Diciotto aziende del settore hi-tech hanno fatto un ulteriore passo in avanti verso il completo pensionamento delle password.
La FIDO Alliance, infatti, tramite un post pubblicato sul sito ufficiale ha annunciato di aver ricevuto la certificazione per trentuno prodotti diversi, che vanno dai dispositivi fisici ai servizi, che faranno da apripista verso un futuro che si preannuncia essere orfano delle password che tutti conosciamo.
Almeno inizialmente, il tutto dovrebbe avvenire attraverso un lettore per le impronte digitali che non condividerà in alcun modo sul web i dati biometrici degli utenti. Il sistema immagnato da FIDO però va oltre le impronte digitali, ma comprende anche rilevatori vocali ed altri sistemi ancora non svelati ufficialmente.
Tra le aziende che sostengono l'iniziativa c'è Google, che ha ottenuto la certificazione per l'autenticazione a due fattori universale per tutti i propri servizi, ma c'è anche Yubico, che utilizza delle chiavi di sicurezza USB, sempre per effettuare il login attraverso due passaggi. Questo tipo di autenticazione è solo il primo passo del progetto, che mira a portare anche degli accessori di Egis che consentono agli utenti di autenticarsi attraverso le impronte digitali o un braccialetto biometrico.
Samsung, inoltre, sta lavorando per integrare nei propri servizi lo scanner presente negli ultimi top di gamme, come il Galaxy S6 ed S6 Edge.
Nelle certificazioni concesse figurano anche richieste di Alibaba, Visa e Bank of America, ma nessuna di queste società ha rilasciato un accessorio FIDO.

Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings.
