Sony pronta a vendere il settore smartphone?

La divisione mobile di Sony, meglio conosciuta come Sony Mobile Communications, non sta passando un buon periodo dal punto di vista finanziario. Il produttore giapponese, infatti, è uno dei pochi a vendere gli smartphone in perdita, ecco perchè l'amministratore delegato Kazuo Hirai sta valutando, insieme al management, tutte le possibilità per far si che la situazione cambi radicalmente nel giro di poco tempo.
Secondo quanto riferito da Reuters, Hirai ed altri funzionari starebbero valutando la possibilità di vendere la divisione smartphone per evitare che incida ulteriormente in maniera negativa sul bilancio della società. Nell'esercizio in corso, infatti, Sony ha previsto un perdita netta di 1,9 miliardi di Dollari, e la divisione che si occupa dei cellulari è tra i principali responsabili di questa situazione difficilissima. L'ancora di salvataggio probabilmente sarà rappresentata dai dispositivi della famiglia Xperia Z4, che a quanto pare saranno annunciati al Mobile World Congress di Barcellona.

Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument. Officials said the former prime minister would not be held for more than a week but insisted that her detention was necessary while matters in the country were "organised".
