Michael Pachter: non c'è spazio per altre console dopo PlayStation 4 e Xbox One

Michael Pachter, famoso esperto di mercato per Wedbush Securities, è sicuro: PlayStation 4 e Xbox One rappresenteranno le ultime console per videogiochi come le conosciamo oggi. Nel corso di un'intervista concessa in occasione dell'ultimo episodio di Gamertag Radio, Pachter ha spiegato che i progressi nella tecnologia porteranno alla nascita di dispositivi come Apple TV e Chromecast.
"In realtà non penso ci sia spazio per un'altra generazione di console dopo questa", ha affermato l'esponente di Wedbush Securities. "Sicuramente, Nintendo ne lancerà una nuova entro un paio di anni. Ma fallirà. Non sono sicuro che Microsoft e Sony seguiranno tra cinque o sei anni perché vedrete come questo nuovo modo di giocare starà diventando un affare troppo grosso per essere ignorato".
Pachter si riferisce alla diffusione di contenuti in streaming, una strada che Sony sta già praticando con l'esperimento PlayStation Now che, secondo molti, potrà presto essere considerato una sorta di "PlayStation 5". Microsoft ovviamente non mancherà all'appello, visto che si tratta di una tecnologia che indiscutibilmente attrae i grandi produttori internazionali.

Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings.
