Mentre tutti gli occhi del mondo sono puntati sul Brasile per l'avvio dei Mondiali, c'è anche qualcuno che si prepara a seguire l'evento... in orbita. Rinchiusi a 400 chilometri di distanza dalla Terra, gli astronauti di stanza sulla ISS hanno voluto augurare a modo loro buona fortuna a tutte le squadre partecipanti.

Reid Wiseman e Steve Swanson, statunitensi, e Alexander Gers, tedesco, hanno improvvisato una partitella a gravità zero con tanto di rovesciate e tiri "in porta". A Swanson, comandante di missione dell'Expedition 40, è toccato l'onore di tirare il calcio d'inizio. Ma prima, i tre hanno assicurato che seguiranno le partite anche dallo Spazio.

Di sicuro non perderanno il match che vedrà le rispettive nazionali scontrarsi direttamente: USA e Germania si sfideranno il 26 giugno all'Arena Pernambuco di Recife. Nel frattempo, i cosmonauti si tengono allenati: le loro mosse in microgravità sono degne delle migliori acrobazie degli atleti in gara.

Thailand army continues crackdown after coup

Thailand's military has ordered 35 more people, including prominent academics, to report to them by Saturday afternoon as the post-coup crackdown continues. The move comes a day after the army ordered more than 100 politicians, including ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra, to come to the military council. Ms Yingluck was detained in Bangkok on Friday and spent the night in custody. Many on the army's latest list have previously been charged with speaking or acting against the monarchy. Meanwhile, several hundred protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to show their anger at military's seizure of power, defying a ban on large gatherings. Anti-coup banners were unfurled as they arrived at Victory Monument. Officials said the former prime minister would not be held for more than a week but insisted that her detention was necessary while matters in the country were "organised".
